"Best week ever! Thank you soooooo much!!”
“A huge thank you for all the support and care you have given my daughter Molly this past week... You have given her lots to think about and allowed her to explore her feelings and queries in a safe and supportive environment for which I cannot thank you enough”. Katie (mum),
This summer camp for 13-16 year olds at Abernethy Nethybridge is an all round fantastic week away! With a great mix of adventure activities, evening games and challenges, some great worship and Bible teaching and plenty of cafe and chill out time, what’s not to like? The programme offers the opportunity to spend some whole days doing one activity as well as plenty of time to have a go at lots of new things – pre-breakfast gorge plunge anyone?! Our beach BBQ is a great way to round off a brilliant week. Adventure Plus is a great way to make life-long friends and is a full on quality time away from home.
If you would like to use this camp as your Gold DofE Residential, please inform the Reception team when booking.
James McSporran has been involved with Abernethy since he joined the team at Nethybridge in 2008. He instructed for 5 years, before moving to London and training with HTB as part of the Worship Central Academy. He’s now part of the team at Ps & Gs church in Edinburgh, where he leads the youth ministry. James loves Abernethy and is passionate about helping young people grow in their faith, using the community and culture of Abernethy as a platform for establishing patterns for the rest of year.
During instructed sessions, our instructors will be in charge.
In non-instructed time, our team will be supervising you and organising activities.
We're really excited to welcome James McSporran back to speak in 2017. James worked as an Instructor for 5 years at Abernethy Nethybridge, before spending a year in London with Holy Trinity Brompton on their Leadership College as part of the Worship Central Academy. Since 2014, he has been Youth Director at Ps and Gs church in Edinburgh. He loves music, skiing, cycling, and trips around Scotland with friends. James has always loved being involved with Adventure Plus, and has spoken at the camp the past few summers.
