Inspired by the need to challenge men in the church, Abernethy Barcaple are hosting Man Up! This weekend is tailored to Christian men and will explore what it means to be a Godly man with a mix of outdoor activities alongside talks from our guest speaker. With encouraging messages by Rev Edward Lyons and a choice of Paddling; Biking or Hiking, men will have a chance to push their limits in fellowship with their peers.
Edward David Lyons is an ordained minister of the Church of Scotland. He was born in Glasgow in 1977 and grew up in Drumchapel, a large housing estate. Throughout his youth he swung between atheism, deism and agnosticism depending the his mood that day! Edward studied Biochemistry at Strathclyde University where he became a Christian. He was called to ministry in 1999 and ordained into his current charge of Penninghame in Newton Stewart in 2007. Edward enjoys running and hillwalking, is married to Caroline and has three children.
