Business & Sales Manager - Abernethy Nethybridge

What are the key roles of the Business & Sales Manager?

  • To be a positive ambassador for Abernethy Nethybridge, promoting and developing our work with existing guests and prospective ones
  • To be the driving force behind new sales generation to increase occupancy and income
  • To line manage the Office Manager and support them in developing sales and even better customer relationship management
  • To maintain and develop excellent partnerships with our groups and schools, ensuring that we build a lasting and meaningful relationship with them
  • To help develop goals, objectives and a sales strategy that lead to occupancy growth and financial sustainability
  • To increase revenue streams by improving existing offerings and developing new ones
  • To collaborate with the Chief Instructor, Ministries Manager and Operations Director in the development of new programmes and holidays that fulfil our Christian vision
  • To work with our Trust Marketing Team ensuring excellent communication and proactive forward-planning as we promote our work
  • To research, suggest and initiate sound business development initiatives under the direction of the Operations Director
  • To visit churches, schools and other organisations as required to promote Abernethy
  • To oversee and be involved in IT developments across Abernethy Nethybridge
  • To be a key part of the Centre Leadership Team, including being involved in general operational aspects of leading our ministry, such as Duty Management
  • To have an involvement with our Explore Christian programme
  • To be actively involved with the local church (Abernethy Parish Church)
 

What experience are we looking for?

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they:

Essential

  • Have a mature and growing Christian Faith
  • Are a positive Christian role model for both guests and staff
  • Have a heart for service, evangelism and Christian discipleship
  • Have brilliant written and verbal communication skills
  • Have an active interest in outdoor adventure activities and youth work
  • Are educated to degree level or have at least 8 years relevant work experience
  • Have a proven track record of success in a sales, business development or project management role
  • Have a proven track record in meeting targets and working to deadlines
  • Are confident, well-presented and can represent the Abernethy Trust in a positive way
  • Are motivated, flexible, friendly and collaborative
  • Love working as part of a team, but can work effectively alone if required
  • Have previous experience of working at management or supervisory level in a business or charity environment
  • Have previous experience of successfully leading and motivating a team
  • Have experience and understanding of budget holding
  • Are willing to be flexible and go the extra mile when required
  • Are happy to roll up their sleeves and be hands-on when needed
  • Have a good working knowledge of IT systems
  • Have a full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Have past work experience of outdoor education and/or youth work
  • Have past work experience in a customer-facing or hospitality role
  • Have experience of public speaking and delivering presentations
  • Have previous experience of serving on a Leadership or Management Team
