Where is Nethy Bridge?

Abernethy Nethy Bridge is a 25-acre site located in beautiful Strathspey and part of the Cairngorms National Park in the Scottish Highlands. A 45-minute drive from Inverness and under 3 hours from both Edinburgh and Glasgow, the Centre is surrounded by ancient Caledonian pine forest.

There are many exciting mountain biking trails in the surrounding area and it is not far from both Cairngorm and the Lecht Snowsports centres. The river Spey runs close by, and along with nearby Loch Morlich there are myriad varied opportunities for canoeing and kayaking. The Cairngorms National Park and the Moray coast also offer the chance to try rock-climbing, coasteering and gorge-walking.

Adventure Course

A loop of challenges to climb over, under and through as you develop coordination and teamwork.

Aerial Runway

This is a small zipline that takes our younger guests flying through the forest to challenge themselves.

Archery

Archery is a favourite amongst some of our younger guests and with permanent archery areas on-site at our Centres we can set up the activities to suit your programme.

Bushcraft

Lean skills needed to survive in the wild, from building shelters to cooking on an open fire.

Canoeing

Whether it’s on a calm loch, through white water on a river or as a varied coastal journey, an expedition on an open boat is an exciting challenge.

Climbing (Indoor)

We have a climbing room with a range of difficulty for all levels.

Climbing (Outdoor)

We have easy access to single-pitch and multi-pitch crags in stunning locations, with enough to challenge the most adventurous rock athlete!

Crate Climbing

Build the tallest tower of crates possible to test your teamwork and balance.

Coasteering

See a different world come to light in front of your eyes when you access places no-one else can with a coasteering adventure!

Forest Adventure

An educational adventure through the local Caledonian pine forest.

Gorge Walking

Climb through the gorge, feel the strength of the water rushing past you, clambering through deep pools, narrow channels and thundering waterfalls.

Hillwalking

Step right into the mountains and over the streams, as you connect with the beauty of the place around you.

Jacob’s Ladder

A giant ladder in the trees whose rungs get progressively further apart. How high can you make it?

Kayaking

From honing skills through games on the loch, to navigating river rapids, kayaking is a versatile and thrilling activity.

Mountain Biking

Our centres are well situated to offer some of Scotland’s best riding, whether it’s for a day or multi-day expeditions.

Orienteering

An introduction to map reading and navigation skills using our on-site course.

Sailing

Sailing, whether in dinghys or big boats, is a brilliant way to get out on the water. Even better is the experience of falling in the water (or trying to keep dry!).

Skiing

Winter conditions can come in any month in the Cairngorms! From beginner lessons on our dry ski slope to day trips at two of the best ski centres Scotland has to offer.

Stand-Up Paddleboarding

One of our favourite new ways to navigate lochs and rivers.

Team Challenges

A variety of challenges designed to test your communication and teamwork. Can be used for leadership development.

Weaselling

Climb, slide and squeeze your way through boulder fields, above ground and under.

Zip Wire

160m of adrenaline flying through the woods and over our boating pond. Only for the brave!

Facilities

Nethy Bridge has a variety of lounges and meeting rooms as well as a theatre that is perfect for large gatherings. On site we have a 160m zip wire, canoe pond, dry ski slope and climbing wall as well as many other exciting outdoor adventure activities. A swimming pool, sports hall, and games room for enjoying in your down time, as well as a tuck shop, complete the experience. The area is home to an abundance of wildlife including deer, red squirrels, crested tits and ospreys, and you may even catch sight of the much rarer pine martens or capercaillie.
