Be part of the family!
There are so many ways to get involved with Abernethy. We always need people who share our vision to stand with us in prayer as we seek to achieve our mission. You can volunteer at one of our centres through the international volunteer scheme, or just by giving us a call and telling us how you can help. You can spend 6 months or more being a part of one of our communities by joining the Academy, Gap Year program or learning how to be an outdoor instructor in our Trainee Instructor program. If you have a useful skill you can utilise or some time on your hands to spread the word of what we do, we would love to hear from you!
Summer Staff
Are you looking to do something fulfilling during the summer months? We are looking for people who want to serve on our team and be involved in our summer camp ministry. If you have some free time we would love to hear from you!
We are starting to pull together an amazing summer team and we would love you to be a part of it. It is a great opportunity to serve God, grow in faith and live in community.
10 month programme
Trainee Instructor Course
Abernethy Trainee Instructor (TI) course is designed to kickstart your career to become an Outdoor Activity Instructor.
Join our 10-month full-time residential programme to grow in faith, develop your character, practice your soft skills and gain National Governing Body qualifications – all whilst living in Christian Community in the Cairngorms.
12 month programme
Abernethy Gap Year
Are you keen to take some time out, learn new skills and live as part of a Christian community? Join us at Barcaple, Dumfries & Galloway, for a year you won’t forget. Serve as part of our hospitality team, build life skills, friendships and grow in your faith.
Overseas applicants requiring a visa must be 18+ years old.
6 month programme
Abernethy Gap Academy
Are you taking a Gap Year and keen to serve in a Christian community? Join us for 6 months at Nethy Bridge to serve on our hospitality team. Grow in faith whilst living in Christian community and adventuring in the Cairngorms!
Overseas applicants requiring a visa must be 18+ years old.

Prayer and volunteering
Abernethy Trust would not exist without the faithful prayers of many who share in our vision. Join our mailing list to be kept up to date with prayer points and take part in online prayer meetings. In addition to prayer, you can support us by volunteering at one of our centres or using your skills to help us develop. We are so thankful for every one of our supporters.
