This is an opportunity to combine personal retreat times/activities with participating in the creation of an inspiring banner for the chapel at Kilmalieu. Experience of sewing is not essential and all materials will be provided. However, if you are a sewer, it would be good to bring your own machine if possible.
The weekend will be led by Gail Lawther and the team at Kilmalieu. Gail has been stitching since she was young and over the years has created many amazing banners for churches and schools. If you’d like to see more of her work, including some of her banner designs, check out her website.
This promises to be a weekend of warm fellowship as we collaborate on this exciting, shared task. It will be interspersed with opportunities for times of individual retreat activities and sharing great food.
Kilmalieu occupies a stunning position on the shore of Loch Linnhe. It is a renovated eighteenth-century hunting lodge with a mixture of comfortable single, twin and family bedrooms. Food is home-made and consistently praised for its quality. Guests have access to a small library, art room, lounge, chapel and gym – and are free to explore the estate, with its glorious mix of mountains, coastline and woodland.
