KEY ROLES
  • To ensure the Centre and facilities are clean and beautifully presented for our guests to enjoy, creating a warm and welcoming ambience that enables guests and staff to encounter the transformative power of God’s love.
  • Manage, train and mentor the housekeeping team, ensuring high standards. 
  • Manage the staff rota, ensuring adequate staffing for groups and overseeing annual leave and time off for staff. 
  • Help organise and take a full part in implementing the complete housekeeping programme for the Centre and facilities.
  • Ensure all the guest accommodation, facilities and public areas are maintained at an excellent level of cleanliness and repair.
  • To be part of the centre leadership team. 
  • Manage and take part in the smooth running of changeovers and prepare accommodation for new arrivals covering both guest bedrooms and staff accommodation. 
  • Organise and maintain an efficient, hygienic and safe laundry. 
  • Manage cleaning supplies and place orders as required.
  • Work within the agreed budget.
  • Report items that require maintenance to the Maintenance Manager as appropriate.
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are carried out.
  • Handle all lost property, distributing as appropriate after the allocated time lapse and manage the removal of collected materials for charity.
  • To assist with managing autumn cleaning and other close down maintenance periods.
  • Ensure that the Housekeeping Department is operating in an environmentally responsible manner.
  • Assist with a programme of updating furnishings and fittings to create a warm environment within the Centre.
  • Assist in other departments occasionally if necessary.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS 
  • It is a genuine occupational requirement that the holder of this post is a practising Christian whose lifestyle is consistent with the values and doctrine of the Christian faith 
  • As part of our commitment to safeguarding, the successful applicant will be required to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Scheme and the appointment will be subject to a satisfactory PVG Scheme Disclosure
