Full-time, permanent contract, live-in
Location: Abernethy Nethy Bridge, Inverness-shire, PH25 3ED or Aberenthy Barcaple, Dumfries and Galloway, DG7 2AP

Key roles
- To assist in the preparation and serving of food to guests and staff members.
- To carry out cleaning and maintenance duties to ensure that the centre is clean and tidy and can function correctly.

Responsibilities and Duties
- To prepare food, serve meals and assist with kitchen duties as required by Hospitality Manager
- To organise and operate the servery/wash-up efficiently in accordance with guidelines.
- To ensure that the Dining Room, Servery and Kitchen are kept clean and tidy.
- To ensure coffee break and lunchtime arrangements are made to provide for staff requirements.
- To maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness and food hygiene in the kitchen, providing training to team members where necessary.
- To keep up to date with the paperwork and record-keeping associated with catering.
- To have a working knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and COSHH.
- To assist in ensuring that the house and other areas are clean and tidy and that rooms are prepared for guests arriving.
- To be flexible in approach to work, assisting in other departments as required and carrying out general tasks as the need arises within general Centre life including maintenance.
- To be responsible for the health and safety of yourself and others in the day-to-day carrying out of your duty, all within the parameters of your training and the exercise of common sense. For all health, safety and training matters, including reporting informal risk assessments, you are responsible to your manager as shown in this job description.
- To communicate with the Head Housekeeper or Food Services Manager as and when problems arise.
- To fully contribute to the spiritual life and work of the Centre including “Explore”, morning reading, team fellowships and other such activities, including being involved in the local Church as an extension of the Centre ministry.
- Due to the nature of this post it is required for the post holder to be a practising and committed Christian. This is a Genuine Occupational Requirement in line with schedule 9 of the Equalities Act 2010.
